Toronto Fringe Review: You Lost Me - A Sketch Comedy Show
Solo Act’s You Lost Me unfortunately lost me because of the squalling weather, and my proximity to the illustrious Alumnae Theatre, since I am currently dog sitting on the Oakville side of Mississauga.
I can only assume that performers Josh Davis, Jenny Graydon, Tristan Lipton, Stephanie McDonald, Johnny McGroarty, Emma Sexton, and Ryan Williams sparkled in this sketch comedy revue, but we can’t know for sure if the show would tickle my fancy or delight my wits with intelligent nonsense because I was stuck on the Gardiner Expressway, attempting not to hydroplane into a pylon.
Was the sound and lighting by stage manager team Matthew Frade & Selin Maden a work of art? Probably. I hope that Sean Pitre fans could recognize some of his essence in the direction of the show, I can’t say. What I can say is: great poster. A rubber chicken two thirds of the way across a streetcar track - classic comedy. I’m pretty sure from the poster alone I can tell that I would’ve enjoyed this show, but the important thing is everyone’s safe and you can still catch it on July 14th at 5pm at the Alumnae Theatre - find out if this sketch comedy offering is the perfect blend of silly and smart.
You Lost Me: A Sketch Comedy Show is on now until July 14 at the Toronto Fringe. Show times and tickets.
Editor’s Note: Due to a series of unforeseen circumstances, we were unable to review this show in a timely manner, but we adore MK’s attempt to make lemons out of lemonade. The performance that MK was not destined to see was sold out, so get your tickets for tomorrow. Oh Solo Act, please forgive us!
This is a review of what might have been!
