Dolly Parton Reveals Upcoming Rock Album
In March 2022 Dolly Parton pulled yet another legendary move when she politely declined a nomination from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame because she felt she may be taking a spot from someone “who deserved it more”. Despite this, the Hall of Fame left her on the ballot and fans voted with a frenzy. That November Dolly accepted the honour, hinted at the possibility of a rock album, and said farewell to the crowd with a nod to Minnie Pearl.
This week it was announced the album will grace our speakers later this year. The press release reads: “Global superstar and recent Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductee, DOLLY PARTON, has joined forces with some of Rock music’s most legendary artists along with today’s biggest stars for her first-ever Rock album, ROCKSTAR. The ever-evolving Parton teamed up with an all-star roster of musicians for the 30-song collection which includes 9 original tracks and 21 iconic Rock anthems. ROCKSTAR is set for global release on November 17 via Butterfly Records with distribution by Big Machine Label Group and will be available as a 4 LP set, a 2 CD set, digital download and on all streaming services.”
The guests on this album will include Richie Sambora, Sting, Steven Perry, Ann Wilson, Howard Lee, John Fogerty, Kid Rock, Steven Tyler, Warren Haynes, Stevie Nicks, Waddy Wachtel, Peter Frampton, Joan Jett, Chris Stapleton, Miley Cyrus, P!nk, Brandi Carlile, Kevin Cronin, Debbie Harry, Elton John, Melissa Ethridge, Lizzo, Rob Halford, Nikki Sixx, Simon Le Bon, Linda Perry, Emmylou Harris, Sheryl Crow, Pat Benatar, Neil Giraldo, Michael McDonald, Ronnie McDowell, The Jordanaires, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Mick Fleetwood, Ronnie Van Zant Gary Rossington, and The Artimus Pyle Band - just to name a few.
