CCMAs Announce 2020 Nominees

The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) today announced the nominees for the 38th Canadian Country Music Awards, which will air September 27 at 9 pm on Global and online platforms. This year’s nominations see women represented in 91% of eligible artist categories, but are also a stark reminder that the entire country music industry has a lot of work to do in supporting IBPOC country musicians.
Tenille Townes, who recently released her debut album The Lemonade Stand, leads with six CCMA nominations, followed by The Reklaws, Dallas Smith, and James Barker Band with four nominations, and MacKenzie Porter, Jade Eagleson, Hunter Brothers, and The Washboard Union with three nominations each.
The 2020 CCMA Awards presentations and performances, and will be filmed in Ontario at Burl’s Creek Event Grounds, and in Nashville, Tennessee (mostly likely because many nominees chose to stay in Tennessee during the ongoing Pandemic).
