CBC Announces 2020-21 Original Programming Slate
CBC has announced the programming slate for 2020-2021 including new and returning Canadian comedy shows and podcasts.
The fall schedule will include season 28 of This Hour Has 22 Minutes, season 6 of Still Standing, Ha!ifax Comedy Fest, Just For Laughs: Galas, and finale season of Baroness von Sketch Show.
The winter 2021 schedule will see the return of Kim’s Convenience, Tallboyz, and Working’ Moms. The CBC winter schedule will also feature the premiere of Lady Dicks, a buddy cop drama series starring Meredith MacNeill (Baroness von Sketch Show) as Guns and Gangs detective Samantha, and Adrienne C. Moore (Orange is the New Black) as Drug Squad detective Kelly. Their friendship could help to balance each other out, if only they didn’t drive one another utterly insane.
Lady Dicks is co-created by Tassie Cameron and Sherry White.
CBC Podcasts announced Tony Ho, a new podcast which will premiere in September 2020. Award-winning sketch troupe Tony Ho (Miguel Rivas, Roger Bainbridge and Adam Niebergall) will take listeners on a darkly comedic journey with narrative sketches that explore the nature of human relationships. If you loved their most recent album Residuals, then this podcast is for you.
